Hit the Ground Running in 2016

With a new year comes new opportunities. Whether it is the pursuit of a promotion, or the start of a new Lobster Ink course, setting goals will ultimately make it possible for you to plan for and measure success.

With a fresh approach and a list of goals in hand, the new year can present you with the perfect window of time to gain new skills, impress Guests and be the best at everything you do.

But how do you know when a goal is achievable or not?

It’s simple, achievable goals are always SMART: Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Timely.

  1. Identify the specific goal you want to achieve.
    This might be completing a course level, getting a certain assessment score or learning how to perfect a certain set of skills.
  1. Make sure that the outcomes of each goal are measurable.
    It may seem obvious, but it is important to know when a specific goal has been achieved, so that you can move on to the next one.
  1. Establish if your goals are attainable.
    Familiarise yourself with all the requirements you will need to meet to achieve your objectives.
  1. Set goals that are relevant to you.
    Always choose goals that are particular to your needs and desires, which will help you advance in the way you want to.
  1. Be timely when planning how you will achieve your goals.
    You will need to be make sure that you allocate enough time to each objective, to ensure maximum productivity.

Following these simple guidelines can help you to set and achieve realistic goals that will make 2016 your year to succeed.
