Health and Safety on Standard

You may feel healthy and safe at your establishment, but there are potential hazards all around. These can come in the form of dangerous or faulty equipment, bacteria, and more. It is extremely important that these risks are kept to a minimum. Your Guests’ lives could depend on it – not to mention your colleagues, or even yourself!

Are you familiar with the health and safety standards at your establishment? Take the spot-test below to get a fair idea:

Which of the below “facts” are incorrect? Leave your answers and any additional comments in the comment section at the bottom of this page.

  1. ‘Hazards’ can be defined as anything that can lead to illness, injury or damage to your property.
  2. Ergonomics is the study of peoples’ efficiency in their working environment.
  3. The first thing that you should do when arriving at work is wash your hands.
  4. A good posture does little to prevent fatigue and promote efficiency.

Of course, there are many other aspects of health and safety to consider. These are covered in great detail in our Health and Safety course. If you haven’t had a chance to complete the course, go ahead and ask your manager to sign you up.

Good luck, and keep healthy!
